2020 Men's Senior Match Play Rules
Play is governed by the Rules of Golf of the United States Golf Association and, where applicable, by the following Local Rules and Definitions:
Player late for starting time: If a player arrives at his starting point ready to play within 5 minutes of his starting time, the penalty for failure to start on time is loss of the first hole. Penalty for failure to join assigned group/match by completion of second hole is disqualification. Rule 5-3
- Tees: All flights play the white tees.
- Scorecards: Scores will be posted. Turn your signed scorecard in at the end of your round. Enter most likely score when hole is conceded. Enter normal score for holes not played.
- Doubt as to procedure: In match play, if a doubt or dispute arises between players, a player may make a claim. The claim must be made before the players involved play from the next teeing ground. Consult the Rules Committee as soon as possible.
- Concession 3-2: A player may concede his opponent’s next stroke, hole or the match at any time. A concession may not be declined or withdrawn.
- Practice at the putting green of the hole completed is prohibited. PENALTY: loss of the next hole. All players must return to clubhouse after completion of match. You cannot “play in”.
- Ground Under Repair: is all white circled areas unless defined otherwise, including french drains (exposed trenches filled with rocks or stones), drain covers, flagged trees, tree support stakes and cables.
- 6 INCH PREFERRED LIES in the GENERAL AREA, (Whole area of the course EXCEPT TEEING AREA PUTTING GREEN, PENALTY AREA, AND BUNKERS). Mark-lift-clean-place.
- Yellow and Red Lines mark penalty areas which affect your drop options. RULE 17. Drop area may be used for water hazard behind Aspen #1.
- Out of Bounds: is defined by inside edges, at ground level, of the white stakes, including paved area around the clubhouse and the parking lot.
- In all flights, strokes will be given to the higher handicapped player of the match.
- The playing of musical devices, (phones, IPad, boom box, earbuds) are prohibited. 1st offense loss of hole, 2nd offense is disqualification.
- DO NOT TOUCH THE FLAG, 2ND OFFENSE EQUALS DISQUALIFICATION
